Ben used Information and Communications Technology effectively when he entered the 2007 Marathon des Sables.

 

A website was created and dedicated to Ben’s preparation and involvement in the race. It acted as  a source of information for his supporters and potential sponsors. The site also kept them up to date during the race with specially written daily reports and  blog entries.  

Ben said “Apart from completing the race my goals in this endeavour were to raise money for charity, gain corporate sponsorship and to increase my visibility with my employers. The quality, usability and professionalism of the website have been commented on by many of the visitors and I do believe this added a significant amount towards achieving these goals.

Ben came 132nd out of over 700 who entered the race and raised £7770 for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
